1/4" wide foam tape

Optional:
Cricut machine with Doodlebug cartridge (flower #2)
Xyron sticker maker
Stamp cleaner pad

 Instructions

First step:
Fold the 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" piece of solid colored cardstock in half creating a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card.
Using the Bliss blue ink and the butterflies stamp from the Sprinkles stamp set and randomly stamp across the entire front of the card.

 Second step:
Cut the flower and leaves out of the pink, blue and green scraps using the cricut machine and Doodlebug cartridge. If you do not have a cricut machine you can use any type of die cut you have available or you can free hand draw the flower and leaves and cut them out.

 Third Step:
Outline the flower pieces using coordinating glitter pens.

Fourth Step:
Glue the flower and leaves to the center of the card front.

Fifth step:
Apply the foam tape to the outer edges of the card front. Leave the top cover of the tape in place for right now.

Sixth step:
Using the black Staz-On ink and the Happy Birthday stamp from the Bold & Basic Greeting set, stamp the phrase in the lower right corner of the acetate sheet. Set aside to dry.

Seventh step:
Punch out the butterflies from various colors of glitter paper or any other type of cardstock you prefer. Place the butterflies in the center of the card front on top of the flower.

Note: If you are not using double sided paper, you may want to glue 2 butterflies together so no blank backs show when you shake the card. I used my Xyron to make the backside of one butterflie sticky and then put another one on top so both sides show color.

Eighth step:
Remove the backing from the foam tape and place the piece of clear plastic or acetate on top. Trim off any excess that hangs over the edges.

Hint: rub a used bounce dryer sheet over the side of hte acetate that lies against the butterflies. This helps to keep the butterflies from sticking due to static cling.

 Ninth step:
Cut the designer paper into 1/4" strips. Glue the strips of paper on top of the foam tape (which is now covered with the acetate) all the way around.

 Last step:
Sign the back of your card! Take credit for the work you have done.
