Back to School Greeting Card Using Fabric
Gather together all the supplies you will need:
Red and green patterned fabric scraps
Apple stencil or template
Blue lined school paper
White cardstock 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" folded in half
Blue ink
Chipboard or sticker "A+"
Permanent ink pen in color of your choice
Jumbo Brad Buddies "pencil"
Glue or tape
Computer and printer
Instructions
First step: Stencil the apple and leaves onto the red and green patterned fabric. Cut out the images
Note: Remember to stencil on the back side of the fabic and also take into consideration the pattern will be reversed when you flip it over.
Second step: Tape or glue the blue-lined school paper to the folded cardstock.
Third Step:
Glue the apple to the bottom, left of the card front. Glue on the leaves by pulling the very top of the apple off the paper and placing the leaves under the apple top. Let dry
Fourth Step: Glue or stick the A+ to the upper, right corner of the card front. I used regular alphabet stickers and used an "x" for the + mark since I was unable to locate any plus marks anywhere.
Fifth Step: Once the apple is dry, draw small dash marks around the entire inside edge of both the apple and the leaves. This makes it look as if the fabric has been sewn but without the work.
Step Six: Ink the edges of the card with the blue ink or chalk.
Step Seven: Usinging MS Word or similar program, print out the saying (see below). Tear the saying out and attach to the inside of the card using tape or glue.
Step Eight: Attach the pencil brad below the saying.
